A grey kitchen might not be the first idea that springs to mind when we talk of chic, sophisticated living spaces, but this project demonstrates how beautiful grey kitchens can be. We paired light grey kitchen units with grey stone pattern to create an aesthetically-pleasing, functional kitchen for our clients, who wanted to make the most of every last inch of space in their Parisian townhouse.
A contemporary light grey kitchen
A kitchen’s aesthetic is largely determined by the colours and materials chosen, and for this project we opted to stick with a grey colour palette. The worktop and wall panel were built in laminated Ceppo di Gré, whilst the unit fronts were designed to reflect the stone’s natural tones. Kitchen units were fitted in the soft Mist Grey finish, which contrasted nicely with the darker Anthracite Grey finish chosen for the central island. All units were constructed using the FINE model from Santos - a refined, handleless design to complete the contemporary look of the space.
A light grey kitchen that prioritised space
Our clients wanted an open-plan kitchen in their townhouse that would lead into the dining area and have a clear view of the garden. However, this vision was blocked by the room’s central pillar. The eba specialists had to get creative to integrate the pillar into the design and provide our clients with a room that favoured open space and the opportunity to socialise with others.
One way we maximised use of space in this contemporary grey kitchen was by incorporating stackable units. The selected units and drawers offered the maximum amount of storage possible whilst remaining sleek and minimalist. The ample storage space enables the kitchen to be kept organised and clutter-free.
A contemporary grey kitchen with minimalist appliances
The owners of the property, keen foodies, had clear requests when it came to their electronic appliances. We chose high-quality appliances that could meet all their needs and fit with the overall aesthetic of the kitchen. A V-ZUG convection oven and a Miele induction hob with built-in extraction were chosen for their performance and chic designs.
Another key element of this project was the installation of a bookcase for our clients' cookbook collection. The Natural Oak goes well with the grey kitchen units, adding a touch of warmth to complement their cooler grey tones.
This 11.28m2 grey kitchen fitted with the FINE model from Santos is a fantastic example of what can be done with well-considered interior design. By overcoming challenges like the integration of the central pillar and responding to the specific needs of our clients, we created a functional, aesthetic kitchen that works as a social space for all the family.
