Several months ago, we had the pleasure of meeting Céline Rivier, a passionate food content creator who goes by the username Pépites2Noisette. We met up with her to talk about the conception and design of her new kitchen.
In this interview, we explore her sources of inspiration, the evolution of her vision, and how eba helped her bring her vision of a beautiful, functional kitchen to life.
Inspiration and kitchen aesthetics
Celine was inspired by the world around her when designing her dream kitchen. "My sources of inspiration for this room? Nature, and pared-back, cosy, 'zen' designs. I thought a lot about it so that I could have a kitchen that was ultra practical for the day-to-day, but also for my work and for shoots, all whilst retaining a very aesthetically-pleasing, warm, welcoming feel which fits with the rest of the house." She wanted her kitchen to be a welcoming hang-out space where nature could be admired over breakfast or when enjoying time with friends in the evening.
To achieve her vision, we suggested fitting a kitchen in an L-shape with a central island, equipped with a bar and three high chairs.
Evolution of her vision
Over the course of the project, Céline's vision evolved significantly. Initially attracted by a high-design, dark, contemporary kitchen, in the end she opted for a bright kitchen, using the colours Pearl White and Natural Oak. "My vision for the kitchen changed a lot and I really thank the eba teams for their help. I know that this light, inviting kitchen is exactly what I needed. Without eba I don't know if I would have succeeded at achieving this."
Our different meetings gave Céline the opportunity to learn more about our range of storage lines and systems, and thus refine her kitchen plans. Given her desire for a contemporary design, we advised her to go with our FINE range, known for its refined lines and handleless unit fronts. Additionally, Céline wanted to be able to hide her electronic appliances, so we steered her towards our tall units with retractable sliding doors. These doors can be used to hide the oven and microwave, keeping the kitchen looking orderly.
Choosing eba
Céline chose to work with eba for several fundamental reasons. "I chose eba for the quality of materials and finishes that they offer, but also because of their welcoming and support. They're by far the best kitchen fitter that we met. They ticked all the boxes for us to have the kitchen of our dreams: a very competent team, unparalleled support, high-quality materials and an eye for detail."
Céline had high expectations and strict criteria for the creation of her kitchen. Amongst them were practicality, large storage capacity, aesthetics and durability, as well as specific things related to her work as a food content creator. She explained, "I take lots of photos and videos in the kitchen for my work, so I needed unit fronts that don't show dirt or reflections, a practical, spacious island, and suitable electronic appliances. Safety was also of concern given the presence of my small two-year-old daughter, who is constantly exploring."
Today, Céline's kitchen meets all of her daily needs. Practical, bright, and with plenty of storage, her kitchen is ideal for her content creation job as well as being a fantastic place to hang out with friends.
