This Art Deco kitchen was the result of a complete refurbishment in our clients’ apartment, located in Paris’ 8th arrondissement. Our clients wanted a functional family kitchen that was aesthetically-pleasing, so asked us to design a space that would strike a balance between aesthetics and practicality.

As usual here at eba, we used high-quality materials and unique features to transform the room from an ordinary, boring space to a stylish yet practical Art Deco-style kitchen for all the family to enjoy.

Timeless elegance in this contemporary Art Deco kitchen

Handleless Mink Grey unit fronts create a sophisticated, minimalist feel in the kitchen, complemented by the black worktop and glass partition details. Light colours and glass reflect natural light around the room, creating bright spaces in both the dining and kitchen areas. The glass partition’s geometric Art Deco pattern adds a unique retro-chic touch to the kitchen.

The natural Zimbabwe Black Granite chosen for the countertops and backsplash mean this semi open plan kitchen is extremely durable as well as beautiful. The stone adds natural texture to the space, creating a striking contrast with the smooth Mink Grey unit fronts, glass and metal details.

An alcove with wooden shelving and a smoked glass front, as well as a wine cooler unit, completes this delicate blend of materials.

Balancing functionality and aesthetics

Aside from having a very considered aesthetic, this sophisticated Art Deco kitchen needed to be functional for our family client. Open shelving with strategically-placed. LED lighting provided practical storage options as well as additional lighting above the granite countertop. The open shelves can also be used to display decorative objects, giving our clients the chance to add extra personality to the room.

The base units installed under the Art Deco glass partition make up the cooking zone, with an extraction fan built into the hob. The integrated extraction means there’s no traditional cooker hood cluttering the space, keeping the glass partition as the visual focal point of the room.

The fridge, freezer and oven are cleverly tucked away on one side of the kitchen, which once again keeps the kitchen looking refined and clutter-free. The units stretch from floor to ceiling, making the most of the space.

This contemporary Art Deco kitchen strikes the balance between aesthetics and functionality. The semi open plan space has a timeless elegance whilst providing our clients with everything they need in a family kitchen. Details such as the handleless unit fronts, LED lighting and use of superior materials like the granite worktop demonstrate how we strive for elegance and refinement in our kitchen projects.
