Last week we hosted a cooking demonstration in collaboration with Miele, showcasing their steam oven at our eba Haussmann showroom.

Guests were invited to taste a variety of recipes highlighting how to use different settings on the Miele steam oven, created by talented chef Loïck Courbet. Special functions include automatic programmes and a sous vide drawer.

The evening began with a pain de campagne, prepared using the combination steam oven’s automatic programme for baking. The bread was accompanied by confit sous vide pears, using the sous vide drawer and function on the Miele combination steam oven, rounded off with an utterly sublime herby butter.

Guests were seduced by the simplicity of this opening plate, which highlighted the ingredients' freshness and the multi-purpose uses of the different cooking modes featured on the Miele steam oven.

The chef Loïck Courbet then offered a filet of duck breast cooked on a low heat with the help of a probe, served with diced nectarine with tarragon and a cherry compote with Porto wine. The result: a super tender piece of meat and a surprising but perfectly balanced combination of sweet and acidic flavours.

The culinary voyage continued with an asparagus risotto, prepared using the ‘M Chef Menu’ function on the latest combination steam oven from Miele, and lifted by a delicate dashi and smooth mascarpone cream. This cooking setting produces a creamy risotto and melt-in-the-mouth asparagus without whoever’s cooking having to continually watch it.

The final element of this delicious cooking demo was a brioche made using the HydraCook function, served with syrup-confit apples, which were cooked in the steam oven’s sous vide draw, and an unpasteurized vanilla creme fraiche.

Aside from the delicious food, this event gave our guests the opportunity to discover how to use the Miele steam ovens and all their latest improvements. It was clear over the course of the evening that the Miele steam ovens live up to the reputation of the German brand, known globally for the quality and reliability of its electronic appliances.

The Miele experts present at the event took the time to respond to our guests' questions and to present the advantages of the steam oven range in detail. Guests discovered the possibilities Miele’s latest technology offers, bringing together performance, aesthetics and durability. Here are some of them:

  • Mix&Match cooking, which was also illustrated at this event through the cooking of a roasted filet mignon, sweet potatoes and a quince sauce on the same oven tray

  • an automatic cleaning system

  • numerous built-in automatic programmes

  • the Miele@Home system that allows you to watch food that’s cooking from your phone, using wifi
