A Closer Look at our Manufacturing Process
with Monique Kamel

Talented interior designer Monique Kamel with black Santos kitchen furniture

For almost three years, we've had the pleasure of regularly collaborating with talented interior designer Monique Kamel. Last week we brought her to Santiago de Compostela, Spain, to show her Santos' operational headquarters and the factory where all the kitchen and Living furniture distributed in eba showrooms are made. This visit was a unique opportunity for her to explore our product universe and better understand our approach to interior fitting and design.

Santos’ history and the creation of eba

For more than 70 years, Spanish brand Santos has been known for the excellence and high quality of their kitchens. In 2019, wanting to expand on their kitchen fitting expertise and branch out into the interior design of other living spaces, the company launched eba in France.

The concept of the eba showrooms is to offer clients and architects a comprehensive experience, accompanying them all the way through their interior design projects, from the initial drawings to the final installation. We ensure that they always have a competent team and a range of high-quality products at their disposal.

Monique Kamel visited the Santos showroom in Santiago de Compostela during her stay with us, learning about the latest trends in interior design and kitchen fitting. Our team showed her some innovations and our different collections, explaining how we can customise each project to meet the needs and preferences of our clients.

"What I like about the Santos kitchens that eba distributes is their practicality and functionality. Of course, from a purely design point of view, I also really appreciate the finishes offered. I particularly like having lots of melamine, laminate, lacquer and wood options for my clients' kitchens," explains Monique.

We also took the opportunity to show Monique our offices whilst she was in Santiago, and introduced her to some of the different departments in our company. She was able to meet our design and customer service teams, as well as our marketing and sales teams. This visit gave her an insight into our internal ways of working and how our departments work in close collaboration to offer our clients the very best.

Visiting the Santos factory

The penultimate stage of the trip was spent visiting our kitchens fabrication factory. Monique was able to see our manufacturing process close-up, from material selection to quality control, via production itself. This visit showed her the meticulous attention we pay to the details and finishings of every product that we make.

"It's always a pleasure to work with eba, because I know it’ll always be of high quality. I'm relaxed, because projects are carried out with lots of professionalism, and delivery times are respected," says Monique.

Exploring Santiago

To round off her trip to Santiago de Comspotela, we took Monique to visit the cathedral and the old town, as well as the City of Culture in Santiago de Compostela, a complex modern piece of architecture which houses facilities such as a museum, an auditorium, a library and some exhibition spaces. This visit was the opportunity to discover how architecture and contemporary design can come to enrich the historical heritage of Galicia.

At eba, we're proud to work with professionals such as Monique Kamel, who shares our passion for interior design and innovation. We hope to continue to nurture relationships with architects and designers from around the world, offering them unique experiences which will inspire them in their future projects.
