Our client, a family moving into a modern block of flats in Clichy (Paris), wanted to create a space that was both modern and traditional. With an idea in mind, they called on us to fit their 9m² open kitchen. The project? A parallel peninsula kitchen that would visually separate the kitchen from the living room, using high-quality, natural materials.
Maximising space in a small open peninsula kitchen
As the kitchen was small, at only 9m², our objective was to maximise space. We therefore fit it as a parallel kitchen, which meant we could use the total wall height for storage units. The peninsula was installed opposite, offering extra storage space as well as a pleasant prep and cook space.
For the same reasons, the electronic appliances were carefully chosen to be discretely integrated into the unit. This was done with, for example, the extraction fan, which was integrated into the hob.
Thanks to this installation, the family have a peninsula kitchen that's minimalist whilst remaining multi-use and functional.
Use of warm materials
Thanks to a large terrace, this ground-floor apartment benefits from great lighting, which the owners wanted to enhance by choosing bright, warm materials. The couple therefore chose to base their design on the FINE model from Santos, a minimalist range with smooth, handle-less fronts, and opted for the back wall of the kitchen to be done in light oak, whilst the penisula, countertop and wall panel were made with Carrara marble.
For this parallel kitchen with a peninsula, we prioritised decisions that would maximise the space and ensure it was both functional and elegant. Units that are adjustable for different heights make it possible to take advantage of all available space in the room whilst still ensuring a comfortable working space.
