This small white kitchen was a recent project completed in a house nestled into the forest of France’s idyllic Loiret region. Designed for a family looking to update the space, the project is in the classic eba style, bringing together refinement and practicality. Bright, elegant and timeless, this modern kitchen is an exemplar of the eba philosophy to create beautiful spaces that facilitate everyday living.
An open-plan, fluid design
The starting point for this project was clear: open the kitchen onto the living space and create an open-plan layout that encouraged togetherness. The previous layout, with separate rooms, created a space that was dark and difficult to move around. By completely rethinking the space, the eba Haussmann team were able to seamlessly link the kitchen to the living areas. Now, the peninsula acts as a central hub, providing an additional work surface as well as a space to gather and socialise.
The peninsula, with two elegant black stools, is a functional space for food prep as well as a breakfast bar for people to sit and share a coffee or a quick dinner.
Modern white kitchen cabinets with glass details
This project was brought to life using the FINE model from Santos, chosen for its clean, timeless lines. The modern kitchen cabinets in Pearl White brighten the room, accentuated by the simplicity of the Ardesia Bianco worktop from Laminam. The overall look is one of discrete elegance, with each detail simple and effective.
In contrast, the glass display cabinet in Vertical Natural Oak plays with materials and light. Its warm wooden interior, enhanced by built-in lighting, creates a visual link between the kitchen and the living room. The glass door cabinet breaks up the rest of the white kitchen cabinets, displaying glassware and ornaments whilst providing a warm glow that can be adjusted to different times of day.
Integrated technology for comfort and ease
Aesthetics were not the only factor guiding this design; the small white kitchen also needed to be comfortable and easy to use. Built-in appliances include a hob with an extraction fan concealed in the above white cabinet. The oven and microwave are in a column unit, built at a practical height for standing, and next to worktops for ease of use. The Miele dishwasher and Liebherr refrigerator complete the outfit, with each appliance discretely integrated into the design.
A Grohe tap and white Bradano Bradanit 51U sink were chosen to match the worktops and continue the pure white aesthetic. Lighting underneath the white upper cabinets and in the interior of the glass door cabinet keep the space bright and user-friendly.
A small white kitchen designed for everyday living
This small, 7.27m2 white kitchen demonstrates how thoughtful design can transform a room into a space that’s both stylish and practical. Every element of this design is ergonomic; concealed storage keeps the worktops clutter-free, appliances are within easy reach, and each zone is clearly defined and easy to move between. The result is a calm, orderly space that simplifies everyday living.
As this kitchen is in a family home, creating a space that could accommodate moments shared with loved ones was of top priority. The original separate rooms are now open-plan, inviting relaxation and togetherness. The space feels like a modern cocoon, with high-quality materials and plenty of natural light.
Blending in with its natural wooded surroundings, this house has received a new lease of life with the redesign of this small white kitchen. Timeless, elegant and built to last, this project is the epitome of eba design.
